Writing a Blog, Book, or Private Journal?

Which of these do you prefer, if you have a preference? I like writing in a public blog on my website primarily, but I may start a private journal just for quick notes/mentions of what happened during the day and how I feel, etc. Nothing super detailed in my private journal, unless I feel like it that day, if I do go that route.

I get sick of technology, but nonetheless, I would rather write a blog than a book. Anyway, I wouldn't know the first thing about writing a book. It's all Greek to me!

I prefer writing in a blog instead of a journal. I used to write a lot in a private journal, but it’s been years since I did that.

I prefer writing on a blog, I have 2 blogs one is a personal blog and the second is a Minecraft blog. However, my Minecraft blog is neglected because I spend all my time on my cat forum or other people's forums.

I prefer writing on blog than on private journal or a book. It's not that I can't write on them but I think writing on blog will help me more, give me more experience and exposure than what I cam get from journal or book.

I have been a writer now for over 10 years and even growing up I used to love writing.

I do not maintain a private journal, however, I used to write a journal when I was in my teens. These days I mostly write blog posts and book. I write blogs and book and publish on my own name as well as do it for cleints

I'd prefer to start a blog, because you can place ads, and generate revenue if the blog takes off.

You could also password-protect a private journal and write in it, then, one day, choose to make it public.


Blogging is somewhat similar to keeping a journal, especially if you’re writing online. The main difference is that a traditional journal is private and offline, whereas a blog is accessible on the internet. You can even monetize a journal if it’s public. Many people originally started their blogs as personal journals before evolving them into full-fledged blogs.



A blog allows you to write freely and express yourself much like a journal does, after all, they’re essentially the same thing in many ways.

I am a strong believer of private journaling, because you get to write your thoughts and feelings without sending them to others for evaluation. You can write without the fear of judgement.
