A former GTA 6 developer has shared his thoughts on what excites him most about the upcoming Grand Theft Auto game, especially its impressive realism that he believes will “blow people away.”

Ben Hinchliffe, who worked at Rockstar Games on projects like LA Noire, GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2, and even early GTA 6 development before leaving in 2021, spoke about the highly anticipated title in an interview with GTA VI O’clock. He offered insights into what he thinks Rockstar is refining for its projected Fall 2025 release.

According to Hinchliffe, Rockstar’s team is likely deep into bug-fixing and finalizing gameplay to ensure players have the freedom to complete missions in unique ways. When asked what he’s most looking forward to as an outsider now, he shared his excitement about experiencing the game from a fresh perspective and seeing how the content he once worked on has evolved.

Regarding player expectations, Hinchliffe hinted that the realism in GTA 6 will be a standout feature. “Each Rockstar game has moved closer to realism with every release. I believe GTA 6 will push this even further, making characters and interactions feel more lifelike,” he explained. “It’s going to set a new standard, and fans who have been waiting since GTA 5 are in for a real treat.”

Hinchliffe’s comments align with statements from Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, which has teased that GTA 6 will set new standards in entertainment. While fans are eagerly waiting for a new trailer, speculations are high that Rockstar may reveal more soon, potentially before Take-Two’s earnings call on November 8. Whether we’ll catch a glimpse of the next-level realism Hinchliffe described remains to be seen, but anticipation is definitely building.
