I am a writer..
I write scripts, articles, essays ,As a brand influencer ,I also create contents for marketing brands ..

Now what is the difference between a writer and a copywriter?

Because to me,they all involve writing.

The main difference, in my opinion, comes down to the purpose of the writing. A writer generally focuses on storytelling, sharing ideas, or conveying information—like when you’re writing scripts, essays, or articles.

A copywriter is basically trying to sell content. The main aim is to focus on ensuring that their content can draw in buyers, unlike a writer who is writing content for others to just read. The work of a copywriter goes beyond just writing as he or she is meant to be persuasive to an extent.

Writer is a generic term for those who write. Copywriter is specifically used for writers who write copies. Copies are written pieces that are primarily targeted towards advertising.

Can't help but feel recent technology might make copywriters useless.
That's very true. A copy is usually one sentence. When you use ChatGPT to generate one sentence, people cannot identify it as AI generated. AI checker works only for long form content.

There are some advanced ai generated tools that would be able to detect what must have been written. That is why I don't support the use of Ai to write anything at all.

There are AI detectors but for the AI to detect whether it was generated by AI, there should be enough text input. A copy is usually one liner and it is difficult to find out if the input is one line.

I have seen several books taken down because of the work of AI detectors. AI can't be noticed on just one line, it takes much more as an article or a book. It's better to use AI for research than copying from AI.

There is a slight difference between a writer and a copywriter and the difference lies in their purposes or what they want to achieve with their writing. A writer create content such as articles or even write books to tell stories or to express some ideas but a copywriter creates persuasive content that is often made for marketing or advertising purposes.

You are right about this. A copywriter is doing everything to ensure that he or she makes the best sales copies that we have out there.
