Hello! Im ittermat! I own the petsite Atrocity! Im a single Solo dev whos been working on the site for 11 years! Its a fun side project for me and Im always trying to get things and update things- but I admit to not being a coder- so im learning as I go and doing the best I can! This thread will be about updates to the site and what im working on! I'll try to update when I do everywehere else but sometimes thats hard cuz my adhd makes me forget places exist!

The discord always gets updates first! So feel free to join that if interested!

On forth to the site!

Im working on adding things and more things as I can- but being the main artist and everything does make that difficult.. but i do my best! So heres come site features!​

Cute pets!​

Our pets have genetics as well as recessive and dominant genes, we are always trying to add more outcomes and pieces to the different species! there are also only certain ones that appear at different times!​

There are many paintbrushes to change the look of your pet! From pretty to weird! to scary or even animated!​

Avatar dressup​

Dressup your own avatar- unlike most places we dont have human ones we have anthro ones- with many animal bases to choose from! From sugar gliders to rabbits, to wolves and hyenas! Express yourself!​

We are a completely free to play site, you wont have paywalls to get items, or anything like that- everyone has a chance to get anything we offer without paying for it!​

Hello atrocitians! its been a while I know Carrot gives you basic news but its been a while since Ive done one of these! So here we go! big update time!​

Bugs -> insects (I know worms arent eitehr but like where else can they go?​

Spice->Spices
And put the trading card piece in with trading cards instead of just floating around in the inventory.

--did some work in the skills tab of the pet profiel now you can see how many jokes theyve told, books they've read, toys theyve played with or how many times they've eaten

--pets now say more things (hounda, catari and rouncey)

--updated and overhauled the enemy fights and encounters

--There is now stats on user profiles to show how many items crafted and new achievements for pets for this

--we have an official reddit now

New quest system

I overhauled the npc quest system, instead of finding them asking for things in thier shops they have their own page- and a menu icon

Reworked Trade page

I reworked the trade page to make it hopefully easier to understand.. hoping for an entire rehaul in the future.

Farm rework

I redid the farm to give you more than just the beehives. since now when you fight the cow, or chicken you get the chance to get a mini version to put in these to raise to get products from!

Minipets with your pet
minipets should now appear with your pet if they have one- in fights, the sidebar.. everywhere!

Stud breeding


thanks to @Micolai stud breeding should now work!

You can set a pet as a stud in their manage profile-
You can set a price for them to be studded and the person using your pet pays that price
Tehy will now show up in the breeding/stud page
The owner of the stud will get the money and a message that their pet was used.
it also shows if that pet is a stud in your pets page- for easy locating

NOTE: Cosmetically painted pets cannot be studded.

Stats for boss fights

There are now stats for the boss fights!

Pet jobs

There is now a JOB Center! after months of getting it to work.. I think I got it.! All you need to do is find the job center in the menu-
then click on it... so far you can only work at the supermarket-
gonna work to add the other ones! And make inages for while the pet works and stuff..

basically how this works is you send a pet off to work.. they go work.. you get a countdown showing how long..(it also tells you before you send them off how long it will take)

When the pet is done you get a message that the countdown is finished and you click to collect your payment for a job well done!

As you continue to do this and get more working credits (or rather the amount you've worked at that place) the higher your level and you can unlock other jobs that take longer and give better prizes.

Paint remover

Added a paint remover- to the premium pets store-
for removing the paints you may have put on them and resetting them to their original look.
You have to visit your pet after you use it so the db can update its image.. so if you see a broken image on that pet after use its okay.. just needs to update! So go see em!

Pet interaction

After many many many days of working on it... you can now interact with your pets! Everyone thank @null for helping me with the last bit!

You can find this interaction option in manage and profile!
I also added in a quick way to know if your pet is traveling- there will be a globe icon

User fight stats page

there is now a page on users profile that shows how many times they've fought an enemy

Congratulations on the 11-year milestone! Happy anniversary to Atrocity!

The pet jobs feature is neat, I like how pets can work and find jobs to do. As their levels increase, how much do the prizes increase? Is there a limit to how many levels a pet can reach?


The pet interaction feature is also pretty neat!

at the moment theres not a specific limit- but theres only so many jobs- so technically they can keep going but the prizes stop at a certain point until I can add more- but the levels = rarity basically..

Low level-- common item

Higher= rares and super rares etc

It took forever! but something Im sure alot of you were waiting for! the site is now more mobile friendly! the sidebar is collapsed! and you just have to open it! Happy playing!

Pets can now have an element and so can enemies! There are weaknesses and strengths to different ones.
Owner's alignment => Pet element

Brave collector => Life
Dark Ghost =>Void
Knowledge seeker => Arcane
Light dragon => Sky

Weaknesses-

Void is weak to Sky
Arcane is weak to Life
Life is weak to Void
Sky is weak to Arcane

Resistance-

Void is resistant to Arcane
Sky is resistant to Life
Life is resistant to Sky
Arcane is resistant to Void

How to get a different one?
Pets get their Element from the User who adopts them or breeds them. the only way to get a different one is to either trade with other users, or to Breed with a stud with a owner of a different alignment, when breeding with a stud the baby has a random chance to randomly get the owners alignment of the two owners.

Enemies now ALSO have elements.

I also redid the entire battling system to make it work with these..I also changed the pet to pet battling system a bit too

The recipe book now lets you choose the amount you want to craft and shows you how many of the item you can do

And we redid the other alchemy area where you used dropdowns before- now you choose the items! And if its valid it will let you- if its not it wont. Way better and more visually pleasing than the dropdowns from before!
