Whats Your Favorite Way to Change Pet Colors on Virtual Pet Sites?

What types of features do you like to see implemented on a pet site for changing your pet’s color? Do you prefer systems like paint brushes, potions, or costumes, as seen in Subeta, Neopets, and Marapets, or do you favor a different approach, like Flight Rising’s gene and apparel system?



Do you think it’s important for a pet site to offer multiple options for changing your pet’s color and species?

I don't really have a preference. I do like how IcePets does it - you've got Morphing Potions for color + species and Snow Jars for colors, then you also have a Pet Closet. Your pet can change into any color/species they have been before using the closet. It's nice being able to change my pets for holidays, site events, etc.

The pet closet is a pretty cool feature. Is it similar to Neopets' lab ray feature?

I don't play Neopets so I had to look up the lab ray. I'd compare the lab ray to Mara's operation portal. The pet closet is basically a human avatar wardrobe but for pets. I'm not sure if other sites have a feature like this - I know Mara has the temples to change color/species buuuut you have to complete tasks for it.

Usually anything that gives a detailed color changer, more customization the better.

I like getting hard to obtain or rare colors for my pets, but they need to look cool. It's more fun when you need to grind for it. It also keeps members actively playing your pet site.

I like color changers. They are cool for customization, but I enjoy the rare colors more. Nothing beats the excitement of finally getting that one color that you've been going after for ages.
