Which Virtual Pet Game Pushes You to the Limit?

I need a virtual pet game which can push my ability to its limit yet offer immersive experience. I used to like Digimon World because the gameplay really takes me to the edge of my abilities but now, I want more challenges. Looking forward to your recommendations.

In my opinion, Monster Rancher gives the maximum challenge you can get in a virtual pet games. The extreme difficulty in both training methods and intense combat experiences make it very challenging.
