The Price of Food

How do you deal with the price of food? Do you sacrifice other stuff or visa versa? Do you work longer hours? What foods are more economical? Are those foods more nutritious and/or tasty? What foods do you really like and can you afford them?

What is causing rising food prices in your thinking?

The price of food has increased over the years, but I usually take advantage of sales at nearby stores, especially by checking prices and deals through store apps.

Some items also have more affordable alternatives, so I tend to choose those, like generic soda or cereal brands.

The increase in food prices is actually worrisome. The world is heading for a future where food is something very few can afford which is something that shocks me. And so I do believe that governments need to intervene very quickly.

Controlling food consumption level is one of the ways to deal with the price of food. I have adjusted with the type of meals that I consume and the time range that I do so. That has helped me handle food consumption better.

A big problem where I live is people stealing food. In that case, I can't store food in the kitchen. I just store canned and jarred stuff in my room. Note: I am not the only victim and I know now who is responsible.

It can be disappointing to experience this. I mean having your food been stolen can be a bitter pill to swallow. I am glad that you've found out who is responsible. I would like to know what was done to the said person.

It is a shame to see prices keep increasing, especially when wages and such do not rise inline with inflation so you end up out of pocket.

I tend to look for deals or shop at places that offer cheaper prices for their goods to help me manage the rising costs.

It is more challenging for most people with one stream of income. You won't even know how you are going to cope with such challenges with inflation, especially when the bills keep piling up.

I bargain hunt and buy a cheaper brand.

However, I get all my meats, eggs, and veggies from local farms. I'm lucky enough to live in a rural area where there are plenty of farms. It's cheap, too. People are paying $12 for a dozen eggs at stores. I've been paying the normal $3 from farms. Met is better than whatever the heck they're getting at the store, too.

We are growing a big garden this year - can't wait to tend it!!

I try to get things that are on sale, but it's hard. I've been thinking about getting some food from the Dollar Tree to supplement what I get at my local grocery store. I've been watching Dollar Tree Dinners on youtube to get a feel for what kinds of foods they have and she manages to make some decent looking meals just by using food from the Dollar Tree. It might also be worth looking into growing your own fruits and vegetables if you have the space for it. Also raising your own livestock if you also have the room for it.

It depends what you eat, if you manage your money properly, and get more affordable food it's easier to afford food, and have more spending money.

I manage my income pretty well and know that getting the right balance in terms of buying food items depends on proper bargaining. There are a couple of affordable food items that are out there.
