A dying virtual pet game is one that hasn’t been updated in a very long time and has lost most of its daily players and traffic. If you had the chance to revive a dying virtual pet game, what are some of the things you would do to breathe life back into it?

What types of features or updates would you introduce and implement to attract attention to the game again?

Would you prioritize introducing new mini-games, adding new features and maps, or creating new pets?

What are the main factors that could actually revive a dying virtual pet game and restore it to its former glory? What are the key steps one should take to achieve this?

Easy. I'd revamp the site, if the design isn't already impressive enough, email all members, promote on social media. Add new pets, items, NPCs, and new features to accommodate the users.

I'd also create a thread on VPL about my site 😉
I believe the design changes and creating new content and functionalities are good first steps. Lastly I would focus on creating fan base around the game which could be through game events or competitions. That will make users participate actively.

For me, the key to reviving a dying virtual pet game should include several strategies. Beside the use of new content and events, i’d add options that would allow the players ro interact and share their pets. This would help to create a social platform in which the players would want to participate on and encourage more people to get involve.
