Do Game Franchises Need to End?

There are total 16 Final Fantasy Games and if you add spin offs, remakes, etc. the total number could reach 100. What are your thoughts on franchises like this one that do not seem to be ending. Well, I do agree that some franchises reinvent themselves, for instance God of War, but some franchise sucks.

Final fantasy... might need to take a long break and figure out what it wants to do. If anything should end, it should be Call of Duty, that game doesn't need a new version every year.

Many franchises do need to end. Too many sequels and spin-off titles could result in fatigue and poor quality for the series. However, it can be glorious when a franchise can renovative like we see in God of War.

True, god of war did a good job coming back, though it also took a long break to build up new fans with.
