There are a lot of social media platforms that we have on the internet space nowadays. From the most popular ones like Facebook, Instagram, and others to some new ones coming up. When it comes to joining, is there a particular one which you will never wish to join even with peer pressure?

I would join X, even though it's overrun with far-right creeps. I think free speech is a good thing, but if too many people think one way or the other, tyranny is inevitable.

If you would join X, which one are you not going to join?

I wouldn't join the Truth app. I'm more comfortable with using only X.

I wouldn’t join the Truth Social App either. It’s a platform that I don’t see myself ever being involved with. It’s not for me.

I’d rather stick to the ones that I’m familiar with.

Truth Social is one platform I will not step foot on or create an account on. I would also say X but I have been on there since 2009 when it was Twitter and have built a community up on there so I still use that just not as much as I used to now since it was taken over by Elon Musk.

X is better than Truth app from what I've heard from a lot of people. It's why considering using it is never in my mind.

Twitter/X is one social media platform a lot of people will talk bad about how Elon Musk did or that on the site but still keep using it 😂 😂 😂

It has to be TikTok. I don't see the fun in it, and I guess it is more for younger people. Friends have tried to convince me to join, but I think I'm good. I already have my hands full with Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

I was able to come across this data on user's age range on Tiktok.

36.2% of TikTok users are 18–24 years old

33.9% of TikTok users are 25–34 years old

7.9% of TikTok users are 45–54 years old

6.2% of TikTok users are 55 and ol der

It caters to the younger generation as they prefer to dance to songs, which is one of the reasons why Tiktok blew up in the first place. Then, Tiktok started gaining traction has a place for other creators to post more entertaining videos. A lot of musicians have been able to see their songs go viral, all thanks to Tiktok and their users.

Lip Syncing and trending challenges also helped Tiktok. We really don’t see this occur on other social media platforms as much as it does on Tiktok.

There are a lot of social sites that I am not using even though they are popular but I have not made any vows not to join a certain platform

This is a sign that the older generations might be more active on other sites such as Facebook and maybe WhatsApp than on Tiktok, which they don't find really captivating for them.

Truth Social is a platform I wouldn't join even if I was paid to join. I plan on never logging back into my Twitter account, I joined long before Elon took over the platform but now it's way too toxic.

Yeah, that's very correct. It was a unique selling feature for Tiktok. No other social media platforms though of this until Tiktok burst up on stage. Any other social media platforms trying to do it now is seen a copycat.

I wouldn't join TikTok. While I do watch some of their videos through the browser, I wouldn't install the app. I don't trust the Chinese, they are likely using TikTok to gather sensitive information about the users.

I have also never been on Twitter/X. I don't like being limited in terms of word count. I find it hard to be brief.

The issue with limited word count on Twitter is frustrating. I am only on the app for marketing purposes and don't bother posting more there unless it has to be with my business.

For me it's TikTok. I feel like it's like it would be a bad place gives me bad vibes.

I even am careful of watching too many shorts on youtube because it's too easy to just turn off your brain without thinking critically about what you're watching. It's like candy too much is not good for you.

I wouldn't hold it against you if you decide not to join Tiktok. There are a lot of people who are not always cool with watching short videos and I totally understand the situation.

They enable you to have a higher word count limit, but it’s only available for paid subscribers.

It’s one of the main things that annoys me the most about the platform.

Bluesky and Threads both have a higher default post count limit than Twitter’s default.
