Have you ever played a petsite and been scammed in some way, scammed someone else (whether unintentionally or maybe you were just young) or done something on the site, either to someone else or in general, that you regret doing?

When I was younger, all of these things have absolutely happened to me. When I was about 11 I was told by another user that they would "gift" me their Fire Jetsam if I gifted them my Brown Chomby. This wasn't ok as that was trading and it wasn't allowed then. I was also too young to access the boards but I did absolutely lie about my age back then to access it! I went to whine about it on said boards because they blocked me and got much backlash for it!

I didn't know how to make money on Neopets and if I did, it was quickly spent. When I was 12 I stole a Meowclops that someone was lending out for the avatar and sold it for a lab map, which was very under-priced too at the time if I'm not mistaken. I even felt bad for it at the time and what was worst was the user who was lending the meowclops wasn't even particularly mad at me and didnt want to report me, they were just disappointed. All they wanted from me was a lab map in return although I don't think I even did that for them. I still regret it and wish I could makeup for it now, its an awful thing to do to anyone but we do stupid things when we're young, sometimes still when we're older too.

No I have not. I care about my reputation way too much. I run a website where I must maintain integrity or it'll be the downfall of my site. It's more rewarding when you're legit. I'm in it for the long haul.

I don't know how it'd be possible for me to get scammed playing any pet sites. Maybe if we were swapping items, and one player didn't send a item in return.

I've been fortunate enough never to get scammed. I would say that I'm a bit lucky because a couple of my friends have fallen victim to scams many times..

Honestly, I’ve probably priced some things too high unintentionally when I was younger on Neopets or other pet sites without really knowing the value of those items. Which, in turn, probably scammed some users without me realizing it at the time.

When we’re young and learning how to play, it takes a while to fully understand the economy and gameplay. It’s not something you get right away, you’ve got to experience it and mess up a few times.

It happens in games, though, and you don’t mean for it to happen. The market fluctuates so much. One day an item may be worth millions, and the next, it’s not worth much at all.

I know for sure I had no understanding of how Neopets’ economy worked when I started playing at 13. So yeah, it’s very possible I made some mistakes like that. I’m not afraid to admit it either. I didn’t even know what the rarity system meant or how it affected prices.
