Roblox has hit a surprising milestone: the number of user accounts on the platform is now greater than the world’s population. That’s right—there are more Roblox accounts than there are people on Earth. While many of these are duplicates or alternate accounts, the numbers clearly show the huge success of the platform, which has remained popular for two decades. One big reason is the massive amount of games available on Roblox, many of which are created entirely by the users themselves.
Roblox Breaks Records with Over 8.2 Billion Accounts
The staggering number was revealed through a Roblox game called New User Machine, which tracks total account registrations. As of now, there are 8,228,760,226 registered accounts. In comparison, the current estimated world population is 8,214,500,000.
The number of Roblox accounts is constantly growing. The New User Machine simply shows how many users have ever signed up—this includes both active and inactive accounts.
Why Does Roblox Have So Many Accounts?
Of course, not all of these accounts are active or unique. Many users have multiple accounts, and some accounts are believed to have been created by bots. The total also includes accounts that were deleted and later recreated. Still, it’s a mind-blowing figure that reflects Roblox’s ongoing popularity.
It’s hard to say if any other video game or platform can compete with these numbers. Some speculate that Fortnite might come close, but there’s no clear confirmation. It doesn’t make sense to compare Roblox with paid games like GTA 5 or Minecraft, which require a purchase to play.
They should crack down on the duplicate accounts and see how many actually use the service.
