I like the complete feel of paid games because it maintain ad-free and microtransaction-free features. This makes it deliver uninterrupted play. The Witcher 3 and Elden Ring exemplify top-quality paid titles however Apex Legends among other free games proves that high-quality gameplay can exist without cost. Do you think paid games are better?

It all depends on what you’re looking for, especially with free games, since a lot of them are loaded with ads and microtransactions. That said, some free games actually offer better gameplay than a lot of paid ones. There’ a wide variety of hidden gems on Steam and Itch if you dig deep, especially from upcoming developers.

A lot of these developers are focused on creativity and making a good game, rather than chasing a quick buck, which is why they’d rather make their games free. There are also some free mobile games out there, but those tend to be flooded with ads and microtransactions.

Paid games usually have higher-end graphics and more complex gameplay elements, so it really comes down to personal preference. But honestly? Some free games can easily compete with paid ones and even outperform them in some cases.

Paid games are not better. Yes, there are a couple of paid games that we can claim have great gameplay and nice storyline, but we can also say the same for some top free games. So, to me, it is purely about finding out the game, which makes you happy.
I couldn't agree more. People commonly believe paid games excel while free counterparts fail but this belief is untrue. The experience in some paid games stands out but we have seen some free games provide matching quality in their own way. .

I'm with you on the benefits of paid games! Ad-free and microtransaction-free experiences are a breath of fresh air. The Witcher 3 and Elden Ring are indeed masterclasses in game design. However, Apex Legends and other free-to-play titles prove that quality doesn't have to come with a price tag. It's all about the developer's approach and business model.

Not necessarily. A good game is a good game, whether it’s free or paid. That said, paid games usually don’t rely on predatory monetization, which is more than I can say for most free-to-play titles. But if a paid game is packed with microtransactions anyway, then what exactly are we paying for?

Free game does not mean a bad game and a paid game does not mean a good game. Some of the most played games like Fortnite, PUBG, Valorant are free games

Well, I would have to say that they are supposed to be better because there's a good reason why you're paying for them. It doesn't mean free games are not good too.

The major issue with free games is the presence of ads. It is one of the complaints most of the people playing free games has made and as long as you don't find it as a problem, you will enjoy free games.

Not all the paid games are good.
Sometimes people just assume that, when something is expensive it should be good... But that's not how it works.
You're spot on. The cost of something does not always reflect its quality standards. I have experienced wonderful free games which match the quality of their paid competition while there are some expensive titles that missed the mark.

Which free games do you think can give a lot of paid games a run for their money? In terms of quality gameplay and game mechanics?

Some free games are a clear match for their paid counterparts in quality as well as level of engagement. Team Fortress 2 and Dota 2 are totally free games with super addictive gameplay.

I think it's unfair to jump as a generalization that paid games are better. There are also many free games genuinely enjoyable if we look at their gameplay, graphics, and updates.

It’s depends how you look at it really, paid games are always mystery when were going in blind to not know what to expect, it’s all on the developers of the games how they wanna succeed on their games.
Free games are the same it can usually be so random sometimes but it’s also can be fun, I don’t mind free games if they are worth my time 😆

The value of a game cannot be directly judged by its price. Consider free games like Fortnite, which have acquired so many fans, just because of its interesting game mechanics.

Most of the time yes, but there are some free to play games that are tons of fun. For example, I enjoy playing Pokemon Go. Sure you could pay for coins to get items, but you don't have to if you go out to stops often.

Paid games are most times better than free games. Game developers know that they are making tons of money from paid games and will like to make it really engaging and entertaining.
To be honest, I don't see the price tag as something that makes a game unique. Some free games offer incredible experiences to players and I can mention one or two of them. Fortnite and Pokémon go are free and they offer engaging experience to the players.
