Do you think Threads will beat Twitter?

Threads is a new Twitter like social media platform launched by Mark Zuckerberg. From every indication, it's got similar features with Twitter as it's said that Mark hired fired staffs from Twitter to help build the new app. The app just passed over 10 million downloads in few days.

I think threads will beat Twitter. Despite being one of the oldest social media platforms, it failed to get a lot of active users. It has just around 330 million active users as compared to 2.9 billion users on Facebook. Remember, Threads is Meta's platform.

People say Threads will just be a "phase" but I personally disagree they forget that it's Meta's platform not just anyone's platform and we all know Meta owns Facebook as you said is the largest site on the internet.
I don't think Twitter will die completely as it does have it's loyal users still but Threads will also remain.

I would say that Threads will bring in competition for Twitter no doubt but will never relegate Twitter to the background. If it was possible, Facebook and Instagram would have done it by now.

Threads has been demonstrating solid potential to surpass X in popularity lately. The fast expansion of Threads offer users a very appealing option. But Threads still have a long way to go if it's to compete with X.

I strongly doubt that Threads is going to come any way near to Twitter. The X app has been improving, and I don't think Threads can catch up.

Threads certainly isn't the platform that is dominating over Twitter now, it's Bluesky. I suspect it's going to continue to grow and hopefully dominate both Threads and Twitter because I don't like Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg and thing both of their platforms are toxic. I tried using Threads for a bit but I just didn't care for it. I even used Twitter more than Threads back before it got bad.

Threads doesn’t see that much engagement like Bluesky does.

I see Bluesky overtaking Twitter way before Threads does.

Bluesky is a lot more friendly and inviting for users. Their feeds system and mute feature allows you to customize the platform to your liking, which is something that other social media platforms should have had a long time ago.

Threads did implement a “feeds” feed that’s similar to Bluesky after they saw how successful it was on Bluesky.

However, both platforms are apart of the Fediverse, so if you’re opt in for content sharing, your posts are shared among the sites that are apart of the fediverse.

Threads was a social media platform I created an account on but will admit, I have not gone back to. I feel comparing Threads to Twitter now is a little unfair due to how big of a presence Twitter has online.

The chances of Threads overtaking X appear doubtful to me. X has continued to maintain a devoted fan base due to its well-established brand.

X is clear ahead and has continued to grow in a way that no other app like Thread would be able to come any way near at all. Some popular people that I know are now more focused on making use of the X app instead of Threads.

If threads is able to lure some users over with their monetization program, they might be able to overtake X. It’s currently in invite only mode though. X has managed to keep a lot of users on their platform as of late due their monetization program, so this will be interesting to see how it effects Threads growth.

The Threads bonus is an invite-only bonus program that lets you earn money on your threads content. If you are invited, you will receive a pop-up notification and an invite that appears in your Professional Dashboard on the Instagram app.

To receive a Threads bonus payout, you must comply with the program rules below that are referenced in the Instagram creator incentive terms, in addition to the program rules applicable to bonuses onIt

Let the kaijus fight imo, I'll be over here on other social media that's not run by 500 spiders in a dark maga hat and someone who wishes to be a real boy respectively

The thing that is going to happen is that users will still be on both platform because when they have the opportunity to earn from two platform, they will take it instead of earning from one.

Thread's App growth isn't bad since it was launched because from the stats available, it have improved over a while but it can't overcome Twitter early in the game or it might not be possible.
Everyone who is on Threads have an Instagram account. So, it suffice to say that 99% of the users of Threads are also Instagram users. This is why their numbers is bound to be up.

Trump and Elon Musk are good buddies. They hang out too at events like UFC fights. It's why they are working together in the White House now.
What would be interesting if they allowed users to directly link both of their accounts and share content among both networks.

Threads is apart of the fediverse, however, Twitter isn’t. Twitter has been a stand alone platform for quite some time now, which I believe keeps their platform stagnant compared to others.
